Akyat-bahay members nabbed

Authorities arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery at a chapel in Barangay Sangandaan earlier this week, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) announced Thursday.
Police Lt. Col. Bryan Pajarillo, station commander of Talipapa Police Station 3, identified the suspects as “Ron Ron” of Barangay Bahay Toro and “Pod Angelo” of Barangay Baesa.
Pajarillo said that around 3 a.m. on 23 June, the suspects allegedly forced their way into a room at Saint Benedict Chapel in Paradise Village. They stole a laptop valued at P40,000 and a cellphone worth P24,000.
The victim, fearing for their safety, pretended to be asleep during the incident. After taking the items, the suspects fled. The victim promptly reported the robbery to Barangay Sangandaan authorities, who then alerted Police Station 3.
Following immediate follow-up operations, officers from Police Station 3 arrested “Ron Ron” in Barangay Bahay Toro at 2 p.m. on 24 June after a brief chase. Police said Ron Ron later revealed the location of the stolen items and identified his accomplice, leading to the arrest of “Angelo.”
Authorities recovered an improvised firearm, known as a sumpak, loaded with 9mm live ammunition from “Ron Ron.” A check through the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification system revealed that “Ron Ron” had previous cases of robbery and theft.
Both suspects have been charged with robbery and violating Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
QCPD acting director Police Col. Randy Glenn Silvio assured the public of the police’s commitment to responding to incidents swiftly.
“The QCPD will not hesitate to respond to any incident. So do not hesitate to approach us or call 911 or QC Helpline 122 for fast and prompt public service,” Silvio said.
