Alex Eala made it to the Round of 16 of the Eastbourne Open after a 6-0, 6-1 win over Lucia Bronzetti of Italy in the United Kingdom on Monday (Manila time).
It took the 20-year-old Rafael Nadal Academy graduate one hour and one minute to beat the No. 61-ranked Women’s Tennis Association player.
Eala’s opponent for the Last 16 will be either home bet Sonay Kartal or Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia.
Eala is using these competitions as part of her preparation for the Wimbledon Championships on 30 June.
