In celebration of its golden anniversary, CDO Foodsphere, Inc. hosted media stakeholders for an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to its manufacturing plant in Malvar, Batangas, offering a rare glimpse into the heart of one of the Philippines’ most beloved food brands.

The event, aptly themed “Welcome to Our Home,” paid tribute to CDO’s 50-year journey — from humble beginnings in a small Valenzuela kitchen to becoming a national household name. The celebration brought together three generations of the Ong family, who continue to shape the company’s legacy of quality, innovation, and community.

CDO President and CEO Jerome D. Ong opened the event with a message of gratitude and forward-looking purpose. “What began as a humble family pursuit has become a shared journey with millions of Filipino households — and we’re just getting started,” he said.

The immersive plant tour highlighted CDO’s modern operations, FSSC-certified systems, and strong commitment to sustainability. Rene Hernandez, VP for Plant Operations, and Bernice Jalgalado, VP for Marketing, showcased how CDO blends operational excellence with brand-building anchored in everyday Filipino mealtime moments.

Guests also learned about the company’s community-driven programs through the Odyssey Foundation, presented by Jason Ong, VP for Emerging Businesses. From health and livelihood to education and the environment, the foundation reflects the company’s mission to give back.

In a symbolic passing of the torch, Janna Ong-Santos and Jao Ong — the third generation of the family — shared their involvement in CDO’s brand development and future initiatives, reinforcing the legacy’s continuity.

A moving highlight came from Founder and Chairperson Corazon Dayro Ong, who reflected on the company’s beginnings. “I never imagined our simple dream would grow into a company that would be part of so many Filipino homes,” she said.

With over 5,000 employees and thousands of distribution channels nationwide, CDO remains committed to delivering delicious, affordable, and accessible food — keeping the Filipino spirit alive at every table.
