The Department of Justice (DoJ), with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), held a stakeholder town hall meeting in Camp John Hay, Baguio City, to look into the alleged fraudulent activities and questionable dealings involving the Camp John Hay Development Corporation (CJHDevCo).
In April 2025, the DoJ created a task force to lead the fact-finding and investigative work related to the case in response to mounting reports of alleged fraudulent transactions and irregular sublease arrangements involving CJHDevCo.
The task force is composed of representatives from the DoJ, NBI and relevant support agencies, the task force was mandated to look into possible violations of the law in connection with dealings with sub-lessees and investors inside Camp John Hay.
“The Department of Justice takes these concerns seriously. This town hall is part of our continuing effort to ensure that any alleged irregularities are fully examined. We are here to listen, gather facts and take appropriate legal action where warranted. Our priority is to uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of those who may have been affected,” said DoJ Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty.
The town hall marks a significant step in gathering firsthand accounts from former sub-lessees and other affected parties who transacted with CJHDevCo, its subsidiaries, and/or affiliates.
Representatives from the DoJ and NBI were present to hear stakeholder concerns, answer clarificatory questions, and collect preliminary information that may support the fact-finding process.
The DoJ encourages individuals with relevant information or documents to approach the agency through official channels or attend succeeding dialogues as part of the commitment to uphold transparency, justice, and public trust. Stakeholders who wish to share information or
