Commuters better prepare alternative travel arrangements as the Philippine National Railways (PNR) announced Tuesday the temporary suspension of train services on the Lucena-Calamba-Lucena route for major repairs and maintenance.
The work will include fixing rails, embankments, and bridges along the route, continuing maintenance efforts that began in April.
PNR said the repairs are expected to take three to four weeks, with train operations targeted to resume by the first or second week of July.
The railway company said the maintenance is part of preparations to transfer trainsets currently operating in Manila to Quezon and Bicol provinces to provide safer and more affordable public transportation.
