Alex Eala's run in the Nottingham Open came to an end after a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Magda Linette of Poland in the Round of 32 at the Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre in Great Britain Tuesday evening (Manila time).
The match lasted for one hour and 39 minutes as the 20-year-old Eala suffered her second early exit in a grass tournament this year.
Eala, a Rafael Nadal Academy, clinched her spot in the main draw after beating Anca Todoni of Romania, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, in the second qualifying round last Sunday.
The No. 77-ranked Eala is using these tournaments to prepare for the Wimbledon Championships on 30 June at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
