Alex Eala clinched a spot in the main draw of the Nottingham Open after a hard-fought 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 win over Anca Todoni of Romania in the second qualifying round at in Great Britain early Monday (Manila time).
Eala, 20, needed two hours and 19 minutes to take down Todoni and continue her journey in her third grass court tournament of the year.
The Rafael Nadal Academy graduate previously defeated Varvara Gracheva of France, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, in the fiest qualifying round last Sunday.
Eala's opponent for the main draw has yet to be announced as of writing.
