Pampanga holds dialogue with truckers
Published on

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Provincial Government (PG) met with truckers from Bulacan and Pampanga after issuing a 15-day suspension to truckers coming from the neighboring province.

The suspension is due to the seizure of 17 trucks from Bulacan that hauled trash to the town of Porac.

Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda said that the suspension and dialogue aims to provide information to truckers the possible effects of the said illegal activity, especially to the communities affected by the dumping of trash in their area.

Pineda also stated that the Provincial Government is already preparing to press charges against the seven of the 17 trucks that also hauled mixed and hazardous waste.

To regulate the entry of trucks, the Provincial Government will issue permanent markings if a truck is used for quarry or hauling trash.

Truckers also need to submit an affidavit of undertaking to the Capitol to ensure if sand or trash is loaded on their trucks.

Meanwhile, the 15 truckers who took part in the dialogue were allowed to travel again, while the remaining truckers that were arrested are still grounded for not attending the dialogue.

Gov. Pineda urged truckers from Bulacan to work with the Provincial Government of Pampanga to resolve the issue and have their quarry operation permits returned to them.

Board Member Ananias Canlas Jr., Special Assistant to the Governor Angelina Blanco, PG-ENRO chief Arthur Punsalan, Antonio Ayson, President of the Porac Quarry Operators Association were present during the dialogue.
