The Eastern Police District (EPD) on Friday announced its readiness to secure the opening of classes on 16 June.
More than 535 police personnel have been deployed to ensure public safety, maintain order, and assist students, parents, and teachers during the school opening rush.
As part of the Department of Education’s annual “Balik-Eskwela” initiative, EPD personnel will be stationed across Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan. Their focus will be on securing school zones, managing traffic flow, and providing on-site police assistance.
The EPD has also coordinated with local government units, barangay officials, and school administrators to ensure full security coverage. Assistance desks will be set up in key areas to provide immediate support and response to the public.
Authorities urged the community to remain alert and report any suspicious activity via 911. The police assured a response time of five minutes, in line with the directive of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III for swift and effective assistance.
