CAPAS, Tarlac -- Bjorn Kristensen scored a brace as the Philippine national men's football team settled on a 2-2 draw against Tajikistan in their AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers match Tuesday evening here at the New Clark City Stadium.
Kristensen scored in the 28th and 79th minutes as the Nationals remain on top of Group A with a +3 goal difference despite being tied with the Tajiks with identical 1-1-0 win-draw-loss records.
Shervoni Mabatshoyev scored for Tajikistan in the 30th minute before Parvizdzhon Umarbayev converted a penalty kick in the 42nd minute.
Only the top team of each group will advance to the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
The Philippines will next face Timor Leste on 9 October.
