Alex Eala enters the Round of 16 of the Ilkley Open after sweeping past Filipino-Australian Lizette Cabrera, 7-6, 6-3, at the Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club in Great Britain early Wednesday (Manila time).
Eala needed one hour and 46 minutes to beat her former doubles partner.
The 20-year-old Rafael Nadal Academy graduate is using this competition to prepare for the Wimbledon Championships on 30 June.
Eala will next face Valentina Ryser in the Last 16 on Thursday at the same venue.
