BAGUIO CITY — A fire was immediately put out before it caused more damage in the main kitchen of the Baguio Country Club (BCC) on Sunday morning.
In a statement on the fire, BCC general manager Anthony de Leon said the fire suppression system of the club automatically activated. This helped a lot in the immediate suppression of the fire.
De Leon acknowledged the capability of the employees who have orderly evacuated the members and the guests. He said their extensive fire drills and trainings were out to test during the incident. An evacuation center was immediately set-up at a safe area where needed things were made available.
“Our primary concern is the health and safety of our members, guests and employees of the Club, the reason for the swift evacuation. We had to determine that everything was safe before we allowed the members, guests and staff to the Club, “ De Leon stressed. He said that a thorough investigation is being conducted.
The GM said that there dining remains to be available at the club despite the closure of the club’s main kitchen as there are still two banquet kitchens. De Leon said that results of the investigation on the fire incident will be released soon when available.
