PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — A blast rocked a well-known fast food chain in this city Saturday morning, sending three persons, believed to be its employees, to the hospital for medical attention.
The incident happened to Jollibee, located along Valencia and Malvar Streets in Puerto Princesa City, shortly before 7 a.m., on 7 June.
Witnesses said two employees were seen with visible injuries and burns on various parts of their bodies.
“One of the staff said they had smelled gas inside as early as when they came in for work,” said a witness who was near the scene at the time of the incident.
A security guard stationed near the establishment said they saw crew members panicking and one of them approached to ask for help in calling an ambulance.
“One of them had burns on the lower part of her body. Even her uniform was partially burned,” the guard recounted, requesting not to be named.
City Fire Marshal F/CInsp. Angel Lynn Salvador said that a full report has yet to be released as the investigation is still ongoing.
