

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday, 6 June 2025, announced road closures and rerouting plans in preparation for the 127th Independence Day celebration, including the deployment of over a thousand personnel.
In its advisory, the MMDA said both northbound and southbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard —from Buendia to P. Burgos Drive in Manila — will be closed to traffic from 5 AM to 11 AM on Thursday,12 June, to give way to the celebration at Rizal Park.
Simultaneous road closures will also be implemented in the following areas:
Bonifacio Drive (from P. Burgos to Anda Circle)
TM Kalaw (from Taft Avenue to Roxas Boulevard)
P. Burgos (from Taft Avenue to Roxas Boulevard)
Finance Road (from Taft Avenue to P. Burgos Drive)
Maria Orosa Street (from TM Kalaw to P. Burgos Drive)
The entire stretch of Katigbak Drive, Independence Road, and South Road will also be closed to vehicular traffic from 12:01 AM to 11:30 AM
For Light Vehicles:
Northbound: From Roxas Blvd., turn right at Buendia, then left at Taft Avenue toward your destination. Alternatively, turn right at EDSA, then left at Osmeña.
Southbound: From R-10 to Bonifacio Drive toward Anda Circle, turn left at Soriano Ave., right to Solana St., left to Muralla St., left to Magallanes Drive, then right to P. Burgos Ave.
For Trucks (North Harbor-bound):
From SLEX, proceed to Osmeña Highway, right on Quirino Ave., continue to Nagtahan St., Lacson Ave., left to Yuseco St., then straight to Capulong St. and either turn right or left to R-10.
From Parañaque, turn right at EDSA toward Magallanes Service Road, left at Osmeña Highway, then follow the same route through Nagtahan and Lacson Ave.
Southbound trucks may use the same alternate routes.
The MMDA will deploy 1,100 personnel from various offices to manage traffic flow and monitor the area. Ambulances, tow trucks, barriers, cones, and other equipment will also be on standby to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the celebration.
