The beloved lifestyle and travel program I HEART PH continues its winning momentum as it enters its landmark 10th season with a renewed spirit of discovery and adventure. Fresh from its win as Best Lifestyle and Travel Show at the 38th PMPC Star Awards for Television, the show is embarking on an even more exciting chapter — this time, with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) as its newest official partner.
In a media launch held recently at Novotel Manila Araneta City, host Valerie Tan officially welcomed HKTB to the growing I HEART PH family.
“The Hong Kong Tourism Board greatly values its partnership with I HEART PH,” said Liew Chian Jia, HKTB Regional Director. “This collaboration presents a unique opportunity to highlight Hong Kong’s rich culinary, cultural, and entertainment offerings to Filipino audiences.”
A first look into magical celebrations
As part of the partnership, I HEART PH holds the distinction of being the first Philippine television program to feature highlights of the 20th Anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland, dubbed “The Most Magical Party of All.” The partnership aims to give Filipino viewers a front-row seat to Hong Kong’s most vibrant experiences, from heritage-rich festivals to cutting-edge culinary escapades.
Valerie Tan shared her firsthand adventures in Hong Kong — a whirlwind of immersive cultural encounters, gastronomic indulgences, and joyful memories. Among her unforgettable highlights was climbing the iconic 14-meter tower used in the Bun Scrambling Competition on Cheung Chau Island, part of the annual Cheung Chau Bun Festival held every May. The event celebrates local traditions, including the vibrant Piu Sik Parade, where children dressed as deities and legends are paraded through the streets.
Tan also took her palate on a tour of authentic Cantonese cuisine, starting at the original Tim Ho Wan, where she tasted exclusive Hong Kong-only offerings such as Roselle-infused red rice rolls and Almond Milk Tea — alongside their signature baked barbecue pork buns.
But her culinary escapade didn’t stop there. A trip to the bustling Temple Street Night Market treated her to flaky egg tarts and crispy Hong Kong-style waffles, capturing the soul of Hong Kong’s street food culture.
“It was the energy of the market, the smells, the flavors — all so alive,” Tan recalled.
Adding a heartwarming note to her travel diary, she described her emotional visit to Ocean Park Hong Kong, where she encountered the park’s beloved Giant Panda twin cubs.
“I hope I get to celebrate their first birthday this coming August. That would be so special,” she said.
A decade of passion, purpose, and Philippine pride
I HEART PH has come a long way since its debut in 2015. Tan reflected on the journey, recalling how the show not only survived but thrived during the pandemic.
“We didn’t stop — we found ways to make our episodes even better, even more meaningful,” she said.
For Tan, the success of the show lies in its authenticity and its mission — to tell aspirational Filipino stories, promote hidden gems, and bridge local audiences to global experiences with heartfelt storytelling.
“Even after ten seasons, we’re still learning, growing, and discovering,” she shared.
When asked about her travel must-haves, the host gave a refreshingly relatable answer:
“Powerbank — essential sa social media postings, reels, and TikTok. At syempre, toothbrush — para laging fresh ang breath!”
A new chapter and a run to remember
To commemorate its milestone 10th season, I HEART PH is kicking things off with the “I RUN PH” Fun Run, set for July 13, 2025, at UP Diliman. The event serves not only as a celebration but also as a reminder of the show’s mission — to inspire movement, discovery, and national pride.
Produced by TV8 Media Productions, I HEART PH continues to air every Sunday at 10:30 AM on GTV, beginning June 8. With the full support of new partners like the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the unwavering dedication of its team, the show is set to soar even higher — one story, one destination, one Filipino heart at a time.
