Javee Mocon has finally settled into playing the wing spot almost a year since his transfer to NLEX.

Playing a huge role as support to main gunner Robert Bolick, the 30-year-old Mocon is thriving in the No. 3 spot, consistently providing the goods that propelled the Road Warriors in a prime position to bag a twice-to-beat advantage in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup quarterfinals.

Mocon took over in NLEX’s seventh win in nine outings for a share of the top spot after scoring 23 points and grabbing nine rebounds in a 105-95 win over his former team, Phoenix, last Sunday.

“Yes, of course (I’ve settled in with the new position). I think all the burden is on Robert Bolick. Every time he plays, I just play off from what Robert plays, from what Xyrus (Torres) plays, off everybody on the team. That’s my kind of game,” the 6-foot-3 small forward said.

Mocon had to adjust sliding down to the No. 3 spot under the system of head coach Jong Uichico after playing most of his collegiate and PBA career in the power forward position.

The 2018 sixth overall pick of Rain or Shine was shipped to NLEX by Phoenix in exchange for big man Ato Ular and a 2025 second round pick in September last year.
