LUBAO, Pampanga — The Lubao Bamboo Hub is currently being developed to further promote eco-tourism in the province of Pampanga.

According to the provincial government, the Lubao Bamboo Hub was recently developed through the P28-million funding from the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) led by chief operating officer Mark Lapid.

The Lubao Bamboo Hub in Barangay Sta. Catalina now has a hanging bridge, a floating restaurant and a broader and more scenic park area.

The provincial government cited that Governor-elect Lilia “Nanay” Pineda aims to add more attractions to the tourism site to ensure an influx of guests and visitors.

On Tuesday, Pineda, Lubao Vice Mayor Jay Montemayor and 3rd District Board Member Atty. Jun Canlas conducted an inspection of the facilities.

According to Canlas and provincial engineer Noli Pangan, a masterplan is being formed for the next step of development for the Lubao Bamboo Hub.

Part of the masterplan includes having a jetski and kayak rides on the river, a floating restaurant barge, additional function halls, a PWD and senior-friendly pathways, bigger and wider bike lanes and a floating spa operated by deaf-mute Kabalens.

Fourth District board member-elect Dr. Kaye Naguit, provincial engineer Olimpio Pangan, provincial health officer Dr. Dax Tidula, PPDO Jericho Tapang, PENRO Arthur Punsalan and GSO chief Francis Maslog were also present during the inspection.
