BAGUIO CITY — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported a total of seven mild earthquakes in parts of the Cordillera Region and Isabela province on the morning of 2 June 2025.
The first tremor, with a magnitude of 2.1 and a depth of 20 kilometers, occurred at 5:49 a.m. The epicenter was located 61 kilometers east-southeast of Palanan, Isabela, at 16.86 degrees north latitude and 122.97 degrees east longitude.
Two more mild quakes struck Isabela province later in the morning. The first, at 6:24 a.m., registered a magnitude of 2.0 with a depth of 6 kilometers, located 6 kilometers west-southwest of Roxas, Isabela, at 17.10 degrees north and 121.57 degrees east.
The second occurred at 6:56 a.m., with a magnitude of 1.8 and a depth of 33 kilometers, situated 10 kilometers west-southwest of Mallig, Isabela, at 17.18 degrees north and 121.52 degrees east.
A fourth tremor hit Isabela at 7:06 a.m., measuring 2.1 in magnitude with a depth of 15 kilometers, located 4 kilometers west-southwest of Roxas, Isabela, at 17.10 degrees north and 121.59 degrees east.
In the Cordillera Region, a 2.5-magnitude earthquake with a depth of 33 kilometers was recorded in Mountain Province at 6:30 a.m. The epicenter was 11 kilometers east-southeast of Paracelis, Mountain Province, at 17.11 degrees north and 121.48 degrees east.
Another quake with a magnitude of 1.7 and a depth of 37 kilometers occurred at 7:24 a.m., located 13 kilometers east-southeast of Paracelis, Mountain Province, at 17.06 degrees north and 121.43 degrees east.
The third tremor in Mountain Province struck at 8:17 a.m., measuring 2.3 in magnitude with a depth of 32 kilometers, situated 9 kilometers east-southeast of Paracelis, Mountain Province, at 17.14 degrees north and 121.47 degrees east.
A 2.4-magnitude earthquake with a depth of 33 kilometers was also felt in Ifugao province at 7:07 a.m. Its epicenter was 3 kilometers northwest of Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, at 16.94 degrees north and 121.47 degrees east.
