Alex Eala starts her grass court campaign as she competes as the No. 3 seed in the women’s singles of the Birmingham Classic in the United Kingdom.
Eala, 20, starts her campaign on Tuesday against Linda Fruhvirtova of the Czech Republic in the Round of 32.
At press time, the three-time Junior Grand Slam champion is competing in the women’s doubles with Rebeka Masarova of Switzerland as they take the Australian pair of Ellen Perez and Storm Hunter in the Round of 16.

Eala suffered a first-round exit in her first Grand Slam main draw after a 0-6, 6-2, 3-6 loss to Emiliana Arango of Colombia.

This time, the No. 73 Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) player is gearing up for the Wimbledon Championships, her second Grand Slam of the year, on 30 June at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.
Before competing in Wimbledon, Eala can compete in two grass tournaments in the United Kingdom to further hone her skills and climb up the WTA rankings.
First, there is the HSBC Championships in London from 9 to 15 June and the Nottingham Open in Nottingham from 16 to 22 June.
