MSpectrum, Inc., the solar energy subsidiary of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has completed the installation of a 120-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar rooftop system for DHL Supply Chain’s training center in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
The project can generate approximately 171,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy annually, enabling DHL to reduce its carbon emissions by an estimated 121 tons.
According to MSpectrum, the reduction translates to planting over 5,500 trees or eliminating more than 482,000 kilometers of vehicle travel each year.
“As one of the largest and most respected logistics companies in the world, DHL’s commitment to innovation and sustainability is truly inspiring. With this project, we take one step closer to that future,” MSpectrum President and CEO Ma. Cecilia M. Domingo said.
DHL Country Managing Director Bevan Williams said the company intends to continue investing in solar energy solutions with MSpectrum as its partner.
"We are looking at building a few more sites powered by solar energy. It just makes so much sense, not just for this generation, but for future generations as well,” Williams said.
