Converge delivered the finishing kick in the final 4:10 of the fourth quarter to beat Terrafirma, 117-103, in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup on Wednesday at the Philsports Arena.
King Caralipio waxed hot for the FiberXers with a double-double game of 18 points and 10 rebounds as they officially eliminated the Dyip.
With a slim 104-100 lead, a Caralipio free throw in the fourth quarter sparked a 13-3 run that made sure Converge will get its sixth win in 10 games.
“What I said before this game, we are not taking them lightly because at any given time they (Terrafirma) can beat any team,” Converge head coach Franco Atienza said.
“I was very happy with the team, with the coaches, the help of the coaches, and the whole team that we were able to turn it around.”
Converge big man Justin Arana dropped a double-double game of 17 points and 13 rebounds while Justine Baltazar also had a double-double game of 17 points and 10 boards.
Alec Stockton also scored 17 points as the FiberXers upped its standing to fifth spot overall.
Stanley Pringle scored 23 points for Terrafirma but it wasn’t enough as they sank to 12th with a 1-8 win-loss record.
