The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday warned the public about a circulating fake website that falsely claims to allow users to check for No Contact Apprehension Program (NCAP) violations.
The unofficial website, titled “May Violation Ba?,” is not sanctioned by the MMDA, which advised motorists against inputting their license plate numbers or sharing the link to prevent confusion and potential misuse of personal data.
In an advisory, the MMDA urged netizens to avoid posting and sharing the link. The agency assured the public that it is currently developing an official NCAP website and will announce its release within the coming week.
This warning comes as the government prepares for the EDSA rehabilitation project, a major undertaking set to begin on 13 June last until 2027.
To mitigate traffic during the EDSA rebuild, a toll holiday will be enforced on designated portions of Skyway Stage 3, which will serve as alternate routes. Provincial buses and trucks will be temporarily banned from EDSA from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Meantime, bike lane separators will be removed, and a dedicated motorcycle lane will be opened. The EDSA Busway will remain operational, with the Department of Transportation deploying 100 additional buses. The MRT-3 will operate with additional train sets, and X-ray scanners in all stations will be removed to expedite passenger flow.
Also, the MMDA announced a one-month extension for the dry run of the odd-even traffic scheme on EDSA. The dry run, initially scheduled for one week starting 16 June, may be extended further.
