One of the most loved in the fashion, lifestyle and magazine publishing industry recently launched another milestone. In an intimate and soulful gathering last Saturday, former magazine editor-turned-freelance writer Pierra Calasanz-Labrador quietly came out with her third poetry collection Conversations with my Self(ies), beautifully designed and illustrated by artist Wiji Lacsamana.
Held at Sitio located at Brixton Street in Kapitolyo, Pasig (where Ace Hotel and Suites), the new reading nook within atmospheric candle shop Saan Saan, the well-attended intimate occasion was attended by friends, family, fellow writers, Kapitolyo artist neighbors and book lovers alike.
Written to navigate the emotional rollercoaster during the pandemic — and now, beyond — Conversations with My Self(ies) is a collection of soothing poems on honoring our own pace, embracing our glorious mess and reclaiming a sense of self in these anxious times. Using seasons in place of chapters, it’s a “year of paying attention” via poems that are mindful, calming and quietly empowering.
The seasoned and well-respected artist has been quite a fixture in the industry for some time. Having been an esteemed editor for major titles, she is also known for her distinct and ultra stylish trademark look that only a true child of fashion can have.
