It is no wonder that Baguio remains the perfect summer retreat of Filipinos.

From March to May, Baguio experiences a cool climate that offers a refreshing break from the tropical heat of the city.

Positioned 5,200 feet above sea level, the City of Pines gives locals good views and a gentle breeze. Mornings are always misty. Afternoons are brisk, and evenings are chilly. The weather is definitely cooler than the lowlands.

Baguio is also home to many tourist spots. At the center of it all is Burnham Park, designed by renowned American architect and Baguio City planner Daniel Burnham. Next is the Botanical Garden, located between Wright Park and Teacher’s Camp.

The northeastern outskirts of Baguio is seen from Mines View Park. The Mansion, built in 1908, was the official summer house of the president of the Philippines. It is now open to the public, with once private rooms turned into museums adorned with portraits of the country’s presidents.

If you’re into mysterious vibes, a must-visit are the Teacher’s Camp and the Old Diplomat Hotel — the most haunted places in Baguio.

Tam-awan Village, Museo Cordillera, Baguio Museum, Museum of Igorot Cultures and Arts, Emilio F. Aguinaldo Museum are for arts and culture enthusiasts.

A trip to Baguio wouldn’t be complete without stopping by the Session Road for the night market and Good Shepherd for the Ube and Strawberry jams.

Only a two-hour drive away from Baguio is Atok in Benguet, a reminiscent of New Zealand with its lush floral and fauna. The sunrise views are magical here, too.
