University of Perpetual Help System Dalta wishes Lebron Jhames Daep nothing but the best of luck as he starts a new chapter of his career with De La Salle University.
In a photo released by the school late Monday, Perpetual vice president for sports Anton Tamayo is shaking the hand of La Salle coach Topex Robinson, signaling their agreement about the future of the 6-foot-7 superstar.
The Altas said Daep should still carry the Perpetualite legacy as he enters the next phase of his career of helping the Green Archers make another run at the University Athletic Association title in Season 88.
“With gratitude and pride, we celebrate this milestone with Lebron and remain confident that he will carry the Perpetualite Legacy with honor and heart,” the school posted on social media.
Daep made sure he made the most of his final season with the Junior Altas.
The 19-year-old forward was a key figure for Perpetual as they defeated La Salle Green Hills for the Season 100 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball crown after a grueling best-of-three championship series last April.
Daep was also named as the Most Valuable Player for both the regular season and the finals as Perpetual clinched its first basketball title since joining the NCAA in 1984.
Robinson, who used to be the teammate of Daep’s father at San Sebastian College, stressed that he has big plans for the youngster as he joins an already stacked squad that already has the likes of Kean Baclaan, Jacob Cortez, Luis Pablo and Mason Amos.
“The thing about Lebron was that he’s versatile and skilled. So we’re really excited to have him,” Robinson said.
“I told him that you have to play the same way as KQ (Quiambao). He really loves playing in the wing and he’s really excited.”
