Alex Eala is back in Mallorca, Spain after her stint in the Italian Open in Rome last week.
Eala, 19, posted photos of herself training at the Rafael Nadal Academy as she braces for her main draw debut in the French Open on 25 May.
The No. 70-ranked netter had a forgettable women’s singles campaign after a 0-6, 1-6 loss to Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine in the Round of 128.
Then, she and Coco Gauff joined forces in the women’s doubles, making them one of the most exciting pairs in the Italian Open.
Eala and Gauff started their doubles campaign with a sweep over Alexandra Panova of Russia and Fanny Stollar of Hungary, 6-3, 6-1, in the Round-of-32 in 59 minutes.
Then they breezed past home bets Tyra Grant and Lisa Pigato, 6-2, 6-3, in the Round-of-16.
But Eala and Gauff’s great run came to an end after losing to Italians Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, the defending Italian Open champions, 5-7, 6-3 (7-10), in the quarterfinal.
Eala has an option to compete either in one of two tournaments before the French Open.
She could join either the Internationaux de Strasbourg in France from 18 to 24 May or the Morocco Open from 17 to 24 May in Rabat.
