Carl Tamayo delivered a double-double game for the Changwon LG Sakers as they defeated the Seoul SK Knights, 62-58, in Game 7 of the Korean Basketball League (KBL) finals last Saturday.
Tamayo, a former University of the Philippines standout, dropped 12 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out with 1:28 left in the fourth quarter.
Despite being fouled out, the Sakers finally got their first KBL title in franchise history at the expense of fellow Fighting Maroon Juan Gomez de Liaño and the Knights.
The KBL trophy is also the second title for the 24-year-old Gilas Pilipinas player after winning the Japan B.League crown with the Ryukyu Golden Kings in 2023.
“AGAIN???? Thank you,” Tamayo posted on social media.
Tamayo averaged 15.57 points and 7.57 rebounds in this best-of-seven finals series.
