Restaurants are also meeting places for total strangers.
Carletta Andrews was not expecting anyone as she and her husband were having dinner at the Patron Mexican Restaurant and Cantina in Sandston, Virginia, USA on 16 April.
Then something hit her forehead, according to 8News reporting on an item from the New York Post (NYP).
“When I turned around, I saw the snake in my margarita,” Andrews said.
It was a baby reptile of unknown species, which apparently fell from the ceiling, then curled itself around her drink’s straw.
“I left shaking, I was traumatized,” said Andrews.
Meanwhile, Nathalie Gaines heard two knocks at her home in Lake Mary, Florida, USA on 23 April and looked at the security camera footage through a smartphone app to see who was visiting.
Gaines was shocked to see a big alligator at the front door. Another video of the alligator shared to Fox News shows the reptile standing up while leaning on the door as if it was trying to open the door and enter the home.
The alligator got back on the floor and left Gaines’ home.
Officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission explained the alligator’s antics, saying its attempt to be upright was a natural navigational technique to overcome obstacles.
They also said that the reptile wandered in populated areas because it was searching for a mate.
