The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) announced Sunday the arrest of over 1,000 individuals and the confiscation of P169.5 million worth of illegal goods during its operations in April.

According to CIDG chief Major General Nicolas Torre III, the agency conducted 837 operations nationwide, leading to the apprehension of 1,046 people.

Those arrested included 16 foreign nationals, two individuals listed as national most wanted persons with rewards for their capture, 102 regional most wanted persons and 74 provincial most wanted persons.

The CIDG also reported the detention of three individuals linked to a criminal group and one connected to a communist terrorist organization.

CIDG operations resulted in the seizure of significant amounts of illicit materials, including 118 loose firearms, six explosives, 127 assorted firearm magazines and 1,896 rounds of ammunition.

Furthermore, it also filed 110 criminal complaints with the National Prosecution Service based on the operations conducted during the month.

In a statement, Torre stressed the CIDG’s commitment to maintaining public safety and enforcing the law across the country.

“The CIDG remains focused on addressing criminality and ensuring that the rule of law is upheld,” Torre said.

The PNP recently reported an overall decline in crime rates across the country in the first quarter of 2025.
