Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar emphasized the significance of the partnerships during the ceremonial signing, saying, “Patunay ito sa solidarity, pagkakaisa at matibay na kolaborasyon ng DHSUD at KSAs, na talaga namang isa sa mga susi ng tagumpay ng 4PH Program.”
Held on 1 May at Pag-IBIG Fund’s corporate headquarters in Makati City, the event saw the formalization of several memoranda of agreement between DHSUD and the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), along with Pag-IBIG Fund, to accelerate the construction of housing projects in major cities across the country.
Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said the signing signified strong inter-agency coordination and unity in pursuit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s housing vision.
"Ang pagdiriwang natin ng Labor Day ngayon ay naging mas makabuluhan sa pagpirma natin ng mga Memoranda of Agreement para mas mapabilis pa natin ang implementasyon ng Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program ng ating mahal na Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.," Acuzar said.
Under the new agreements, nearly 8,000 housing units will be built in locations such as Valenzuela City, San Fernando in Pampanga, Calinan District in Davao City, and two areas in Manila—Tondo and Sta. Mesa.
Pag-IBIG Fund will finance these projects through its Direct Developmental Loan Program, a facility specially crafted to support the 4PH initiative and expand access to affordable housing for underserved communities.
Secretary Acuzar described the agreements as a "game changer" for the housing sector, emphasizing their role in streamlining the implementation process and reaching more Filipino families.
"Ito ay game changer sa housing sector, isang innovative approach upang ma-streamline pa natin ang proseso sa 4PH, at mas maraming pamilyang Pilipino... ang matulungan natin makamit ang pangarap na tahanan," he added.
He also expressed appreciation to Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta and SHFC President Federico Laxa for their steadfast support in driving forward the national housing agenda.
