The Zamboanga Valientes are looking to enter the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) as they are in talks with Terrafirma in acquiring its franchise.
Valientes team owner Junnie Navarro said entering Asia’s oldest professional basketball league would be a huge step for the club after several stints
“Owning a team in the PBA would yet be another milestone for the city and people of Zamboanga. Big things are coming for Zamboanga basketball. Arriba Zamboanga! Viva Valientes!” Navarro said.
The Dyip are in their final PBA conference as they have yet to finalize who will take over their franchise.
Zamboanga won the 2023 The Asian Tournament after it signed former National Basketball Association All-Star DeMarcus Cousins.
The Valientes also competed in this year’s Dubai International Basketball Championships last January but lost four straight games.
