Artistry and heritage come together in Lamina 2025, a three-day event happening at the ballroom of the integrated luxury resort City of Dreams. Touted as a pioneering project, the collaboration between the visual art fair group, ManilArt Foundation and the Bayo Atelier Foundation of the fashion brand known for circular economy and sustainability brings different disciplines together for an immersion into heritage, innovation and sustainability.
ManilArt founder and president Amy Loste and Bayo Atelier owners Leo and Anna Lagon collaborated to mount this curated lifestyle fair that aims to position the Philippines as a creative leader in sustainable luxury and design innovation. The entire program gathered artists and artisans whose works bridge artistic heritage and future forward aesthetics.
A key highlight is “Luminous Threads: A Convergence of Art, Fashion and Sustainability.”
“This is a curated runway and experiential art couture exhibit explores the intersection of traditional craftmanship, regenerative design and artistic storytelling,” explains Loste. “It challenges conventional notions of luxury by valuing process, purpose and social impact over excess.”
At the heart of Lamina is the belief that luxury lies in intention. The theme of circularity through the creative expression resonates in the different collaborations. Iconic Filipino designer Patis Tesoro teams up with French textile artist Francis Dravigny to weave fabrics that blend local material with heritage techniques. These textiles are reimagined by Bayo Atelier into contemporary fashion that honor Filipino craftmanship. Bayo is at the forefront for circular design ethos and community base-production and has been recognized by United Nations.
Bayo Atelier is also drawing inspiration from the glass sculptures of Anna Orlina for a runway collection. Collaborative works of Bea Policarpio amplifies the voices of Best Buddies Philippines that centers on empowerment and representation of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
A roster of artists participates in immersive exhibits which bridge art and function. Dominic Rubio who will present a commissioned banner work.
