Tucked away in the cool embrace of the Orani Bataan mountains, Magarra Hotel lets you pause, breathe and indulge.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing retreat, a culinary escape, or simply a change of scenery, Magarra lives true to its name, offering panoramic views, soul-soothing calm and food that celebrates comfort and flavor.
Its four pillars: Rest and Recreation, Roaming and Rumination, Restoration and Rejuvenation and Reboot and Reconnect.
Believe us when we say that you will do all of the above in this highland paradise.
The world seems to slow down as you enter Magarra. Consider this fresh mountain air in your lungs, sunlight streaming through the trees, and a route that virtually beckons you to explore. No matter if you wish to go for a short trek or simply enjoy the symphony of birdsong and breeze, nature here provides a sense of peace that city life cannot.
And when does the golden hour show up? Visit The View Deck, where nature puts on its most magical performance replete with breathtaking vistas of mountains. At its heart sits an iconic tree, a silent sentinel who has witnessed innumerable sunsets and stories. This tree was the idea for Magarra Hotel’s logo. It’s ideal for a romantic evening beneath the stars, a nice family dinner, or late-night long conversations with friends.
When night falls, a warm bonfire is kindled, and yes, there are s’mores. Roasting marshmallows under a starry night sky, surrounded by laughter and fresh mountain air? It’s the kind of moment that makes you forget about the city’s noise and remember peaceful.
Matikas Café’s mood is relaxed yet stylish, and the menu is filled with local favorites and worldwide comfort food that appeal to every type of foodie. The café is a lovely space with earthy tones and warm wood elements, combining indoor comfort and outdoor charm.
We tried (and loved) the Crispy Pork Kare-Kare, which was beautifully served and featured a deep, creamy peanut sauce, crisp vegetables and golden pig crackling.
The Beef Bulalo tastes like a bowl of comfort. The mild broth, slowly cooked with shank and bone marrow, provides depth and comfort. The Sinigang na Hipon is delicious with a tart tamarind flavor and delicate shrimp. Don’t miss the basket of bulad (sun-dried, salted fish fried to a perfect crisp) served with hot vinegar and garlic dip —a flavorful palette treat. If you’re in the mood for finger food, the Popcorn Chicken is a must-try; it is addictively crunchy.
Pizza, cheese sticks and fries? Yep, they’ve got those too. But the real MVP? Suman sa Lihiya with Batirol Hot Chocolate. Sticky, gently sweet rice combined with thick, bittersweet tsokolate is like a warm embrace from your hometown.
What genuinely defines Magarra is the way it feeds both your body and soul. Whether you’re writing by the window with nature’s artwork as your backdrop, sipping trademark brew while watching clouds glide by, or eating marshmallows over a bonfire under a starry sky, this location encourages silence, reflection and connection.
