Santa Rosa, Laguna — President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. witnessed the latest innovation in the Philippines' pursuit of the ever-evolving digital space.

On Wednesday, Vitro Inc. unveiled its latest data facility in Laguna — the Vitro Santa Rosa Data Center.

The facility sits on a 5-hectare property with 13,140 square meters of White Space, which allows for a total rack capacity of 4,500.

It is built to support advanced computing needs such as cloud services, high-performance enterprise systems, and AI-driven technologies.

The facility also has a capacity of 50 megawatts of energy, with its own substation on the property. Thirty-five percent of its power will come from renewable energy.

To handle AI tasks, the facility is powered by NVIDIA GPU servers, allowing businesses to harness real-time data analytics, automation, and next-generation digital tools.

Vitro Inc. is a fully owned subsidiary of ePLDT, the ICT holding company of the telecommunications group PLDT.

The company has been leading the data center scene in the Philippines.

In his remarks, Marcos said the new facility is proof that the Philippines is future-ready for Artificial Intelligence.

"We now have this incredible facility, which makes us AI-ready and definitely in the running to compete with our neighbors and our partners all around the world. [applause] And that is a very important achievement. That important milestone is what we mark here today in Sta. Rosa — this launch of the VITRO Santa Rosa or VSR Data Center," he said.

"It stands as proof that the Philippines is future-ready for the digital realm. There is some work left to do, but we are ready to do that work so we can be an equal player in the world of data and data processing," he added.

Marcos noted that the inauguration of the VSR signals the country's readiness to attract the world's largest technology companies and showcase regional competitiveness in the digital space.

"More than that, this technological development is an investment in the future of every Filipino," he said. "This technological infrastructure strengthens connection, not just digitally. It ensures that innovation fosters connection, brings opportunities, and uplifts lives."

Marcos extended his hand and invited potential investors to explore Filipino ingenuity.

"Bring your technology here! Let us shape that digital economy together — with the Filipino being your greatest asset," he said.

The VSR can also connect with key VITRO hubs in Makati City, Parañaque City, and Pasig City through the VITRO Data Center Interconnect (DCI) for seamless network reliability and scalability.
