The astounding façade of the 212 hand‑woven fabrics representing the diverse regions of the Philippines was recently visited by more than 40,000 guests, including Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums.
According to the Department of Tourism (DOT), the overwhelming turnout affirms the global curiosity, admiration, and connection the Pavilion has sparked among international visitors, with many calling it one of the “must‑see experiences” at the Expo.
“This is more than an exhibition. It is a movement of culture, connection, and creativity that brings the Philippines to the world stage in a way we have never seen before,” Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said. “The remarkable turnout of 40,252 visitors in just nine days is a resounding affirmation of the strength of our story, the power of our people, and the beauty of our culture. It is a triumphant debut for the Philippines, and a proud moment for all Filipinos."
Sheikha Al Mayassa praised the Pavilion’s design and storytelling, spending considerable time appreciating the scrims and even expressing interest in commissioning a similar piece, noting how the fusion of tradition and technology resonated with her.
Anchored on the theme “Nature, Culture, and Community: Woven Together for a Better Future,” the Pavilion has quickly become a symbol of Filipino ingenuity, creativity, and passion.
The Pavilion’s multisensory experience blends traditional craftsmanship with innovation through an animated mix of light, sound, and motion. Its centerpiece, “Dancing with Nature,” transforms visitors into living elements of the natural world, while daily live performances by Cultural Center of the Philippines artists bring warmth, rhythm, and authenticity to every moment.
“The Tourism Promotions Board team is working tirelessly to welcome guests and ensure they experience the true warmth of Filipino hospitality. We hope that every visitor who enters the Pavilion leaves inspired to discover the Philippines firsthand, for at the heart of our country is our greatest strength — our people. And it is through empowering them that we continue to share the very best of who we are with the world,” said Maria Margarita Nograles, Chief Operating Officer of the TPB, the DOT’s marketing promotions arm.
The Pavilion continues to welcome thousands of guests, showcasing Filipino culture and the Philippines’ commitment to sustainable tourism, inclusive growth, and cultural diplomacy.
“This Pavilion is our invitation to the world to feel the warmth of our hospitality, to be awed by the wonder of our islands, and to connect with the soul of our people. We welcome everyone to experience why there is every reason to ‘Love the Philippines,’” Secretary Frasco emphasized.
Upcoming attractions include the launch of the Hilot Wellness Space next week, the Habi Gift Shop in May, and Pavilion mascot Kokoro‑chan, as the Philippine Pavilion continues to share the Filipino story ahead of Expo 2025 Osaka.
