As the country celebrates Easter Sunday, Kaunlad Pinoy shares a message of renewal, hope and collective purpose — values they believe are central not only to Holy Week but also to their ongoing mission of empowering Filipinos through livelihood and entrepreneurship.
“Easter reminds us that no matter how difficult things get, there is always an opportunity for a fresh start,” said first nominee Kuya Choi. “At Kaunlad Pinoy, we believe every Filipino deserves the chance to rise again — whether after personal hardships, losing a job, or experiencing a failed business.”
Running under Ballot Number 133, the partylist group has been traveling across the country, advocating for pro-livelihood legislation such as a tax holiday for first-time entrepreneurs and a Magna Carta for informal businesses. Their goal is to create a more inclusive environment for sari-sari store owners, street vendors, online sellers and aspiring small business owners often overlooked by traditional economic policies.
The Kaunlad Pinoy team is now setting their sights on Davao and the broader Mindanao region, where they plan to continue their listening tours, consultations with vendors and community outreach efforts.
Though Kaunlad Pinoy is not affiliated with any political dynasty or large party, their nominees are known for their extensive experience in public service and community organizing. For Kuya Choi, the mission to empower others is not just political — it’s deeply spiritual.
“All of our dreams, especially when it comes to livelihood, must be rooted in values — faith, honesty, and service to others,” he said. “Even in business, we believe that blessings flow through hard work, guided by faith.”
On Easter, Kaunlad Pinoy encouraged Filipinos to reflect not only on spiritual growth but also on how they can contribute to nation-building through honest work, entrepreneurship, and solidarity.
“It’s not enough to just dream,” Kuya Choi said. “We must build. We must lift each other up. That’s the essence of Easter — rising up with renewed hope.”
