Firemen spent their whole Good Friday putting out the fire that gutted an industrial building in Valenzuela City, finally finishing the operation Saturday morning.
The blaze, which started Friday afternoon at around 5 p.m. at Flexo Manufacturing Corp. in Barangay Veinte Reales, reached Task Force Alpha and continued to rage until the following morning.
It was only declared “under control” at 8:24 a.m., with personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) successfully suppressing the fire within the 15-meter safe zone separating Flexo Manufacturing Corp. and Dulalia Homes — contrary to reports circulating online that residential homes had been affected.
The city government set up the Paltok Elementary School as an evacuation site, but residents chose to remain in their homes.
Valenzuela rescue teams were on the ground to assist in the preemptive evacuation of nearby families and residents, ensuring their safety throughout the incident.
No casualties have been reported. Arson investigators are still conducting further investigation to determine the cause of the blaze and assess the estimated damages.
