It’s Black Saturday.
Yearly, under the Christian Lenten celebration of the Passion of the Christ-Man Jesus, the faithful are in quiet and deep reflection. In this suspended state of uncertainty, the weight of grief and fear is present, yet hopeful and wanting to keep faith. The world awaits, uncertain but hopeful for the promised Resurrection, to break the silence.
Look out into the world. How dark it is. Conflicts and chaos make truth topsy turvy, faltering through illusions after illusions. Greed and ego take over.
We are collectively forgetting kindness in our humanity that cares for the soul, and cares for each other. Technology is a force coming up so great we don’t know exactly how to feel about it.
Shadows stretch across a weary world where minds in their confusion and hearts in loneliness cling to what they think is real: Money, power, fame — what else is in the box of our illusions? The intensity and speed of everything swirling around is dizzying.
Black Saturday.
The disciples with Mary and the Magdalene, the friends of Jesus are in grief. What are they to do?
I bet you some of them in their grieving silence were holding on and practicing what Jesus had taught them — to keep the faith, in spiritual readiness for the promise of what their Master said: That in three days he would rise from the dead.
Today we reflect on this promise of Light and deep transformation. Under the celestial skies, one major planet Pluto finally moved last year, into the constellation of Aquarius (happening for the first time in 200 years and staying there for the next 19 years), heralding the promise of a next golden age — The Age of Aquarius.
This period marks a significant shift in societal and technological landscapes, emphasizing innovation, equality and collective progress. Pluto, is something like the character of Darth Vader.
Dark and scary, Pluto invites us to explore the depths of transformation; its influence is intense, life-altering and profound. The energies of the planet plays around with themes such as power, control, sexuality and the psychological depths of our subconscious, Pluto demands that we go super deeper, exploring the truths that lie beneath the surface; and not take things at face value.
We are in the Black Saturday of our world today. Everything, literally everything, we know is being broken apart. We are asked to see everything around as a point of change. Because only until the old world is dismantled can a new more sustainable and kinder world emerge.
What do we do during this Black Saturday of our world? It may be interesting to use this religious tradition (where Jesus descends to the world of the dead) today as a point of reflection for more profound spiritual awakening. This point of uncertainty holds the opportunity for a shift to consciously bring and ground the Light of Spirit in ourselves and the world we impact.
Maybe we can squarely face the fact that a reset button is being pushed by the Universe. Are you feeling a shift within yourself even as you look out into the world? Feeling as though something big is about to happen? We have options to take: Be driven by fear as a world we know is slowly breaking apart around us OR, focus on raising our frequencies or spiritual energies.
When we understand that the world mirrors what we think, feel and experience inside, we should be able to capture our power to create the exterior reality by the choices we make. The world of quantum physics today shows how we can actually “control” the energies or vibrational fields around us.
This “loving feeling” is about raising our vibrational energies, something which all spiritual traditions, masters, gurus and even Christ who walked the earth was trying to teach us. Jesus was committed in his whole being to the true spiritual awakening of everyone he touched and taught in a deeply personal way. By His being, everyone around Him aspired to be better, more loving beyond their own little selves.
This is the higher frequency we must aspire for. It’s about ditching all the hatred, fears, jealousies, negative energies that lodged in our petty egos, and breaking free from all of them, express this unique energy we call “Love”.
This continues to be the message all spiritual paths and disciplines bring our attention, too. And it is something that even hard-core religious practitioners must understand: That the prayers we do, the sacrifices we make are all to move us into higher states of consciousness, in fields of vibrations that move faster and are finer. And it pushes us beyond ourselves.
We need to impact the world towards positive change. This is the shift to the Light that we each can become and bring to our world. This expansion to the higher vibration allows us to touch Spirit, the God-force and God-energy which permeates all of the Universe. God, after all, is everywhere and is in everything and everyone.
The challenge of our life today is how do we operate from a field of Conscious Spirit — to hold everything in Love. To be Love and, therefore, choose the higher and the better for the common good. Only when we work our inner space can we change our outside world.
As Mahatma Ghandi’s often quote says, “Be the change you want to see…” So be the positive person from inside to expressions outside to be able to help change the world we are now in. We each have this power.
And I maintain that sitting in silence daily, in prayer, in meditation to go beyond the mind is the practice we all must take on with a fervor. Why? Because we must ground and stand resolute in our Light. Like the way Mary and the disciples are doing now, this Black Saturday. They know Jesus will keep his promise and rise from the dead. So, likewise, we all know today that the “devil literally walks the earth right now. That we are fighting a battle of Light and Darkness, of Good and Evil. On all levels of life. But that the Good/Light will triumph. And each of us have a part to play in all this.
Even as we experience the outside world, as we move through it, it is about our interior space projecting itself. Inner changes also equate our outer actions, and impact the world we live in. So our inner space is just as important as the work we do outside, the jobs we have, the images we project and the goals we want to achieve in this life. Our peace, quiet, contentment, our happiness, the expressions of love we feel are the primary goals we need to go for if we want to be warriors to make this world a better place.
Can you use this Black Saturday to awaken that Light within you? After all, the dawn of the Resurrection symbolizes that our future is safe and secure. But in this Black Saturday before the dawn, there is deep spiritual work we need to do.
