PVL scribes hold inaugural Awards Night

The brightest and the finest stars gather in a historic event when the Premier Volleyball League Press Corps stages its first-ever Awards Night next month.

Honoring the top performers in the last three conferences, the PVL Press Corps, in cooperation with Sports Vision, marks another league milestone with the formal gala night slated 27 May at the Novotel in Cubao, Quezon City.

Following the successful inaugural Rookie Draft last year, the Pilipinas Live PVL Press Corps Awards Night will recognize athletes, coaches and executives who stood out throughout the season, encompassing the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, the 2024 Invitational Conference, and the recently concluded 2024-2025 All-Filipino Conference.

Headlining the Awards Night presented by Arena Plus are the feting of Most Valuable Player of the Season, Mythical Team, Rookie of the Year, Team of the Year and Coach of the Year.

The winners will be decided based on overall statistics through the three conferences and votes from team representatives and members of the PVL Press Corps, composed of scribes from print and online publications covering the beat, to ensure objective and impartial selections.

Other citations include Executive of the Year, Most Improved Player, Miss Quality Minutes and Comeback Player of the Year. The Spiker’s Turf Mythical Team and Season MVP will also be honored.

Special awards involving fan engagement and voting will also be given out. Fans will be able to give their input in deciding the winners of the Game of the Year, Star of the Night and Fan Favorite.

Voting mechanics will be posted on the PVL Press Corps’ social media during the voting period.

Meanwhile, the team with the most accumulated green cards will be touted with the Fair Play Award.
