JuanHand named among 'most trusted,' 'user-friendly' lending apps in Phl

JuanHand has emerged as one of the top trusted and hassle-free online lending platforms in the country, according to a recent study by Agile Data Solutions Inc., a firm specializing in consumer behavior analytics.

The study, conducted via the Hustle PH mini app between December 2024 and January 2025, surveyed 3,544 Filipino respondents aged 18 and above.

Findings showed that JuanHand recorded significant growth in brand awareness, trial, and preference, placing it among the leading online lending platforms (OLPs) in the Philippines.

Trust and security were key factors in the ranking. More than half of the respondents (56 percent) rated JuanHand as trustworthy and reliable, while 53 percent identified it as a safe and secure lending choice.

Additionally, 46 percent of users who primarily use other lending apps acknowledged JuanHand’s user interface as more accessible and user-friendly.

Changing borrowing patterns among Filipinos

The study also highlighted shifting trends in consumer borrowing behavior. While six years ago, more than 85 percent of JuanHand borrowers used the platform for short-term financial assistance — colloquially known as pantawid hanggang sweldo — recent patterns indicate a broader use of digital loans.

Today, over 30 percent of borrowers are turning to online loans for business-related purposes, particularly in e-commerce and online selling. This evolution reflects a growing reliance on digital lending not just for immediate needs, but also as a tool for economic empowerment.

Engaging users through digital platforms

Social media continues to play a pivotal role in financial education and app adoption. The research identified Facebook as the most used platform among OLP users, while TikTok is increasingly influential in driving downloads and building trust among younger demographics.

JuanHand has actively leveraged these platforms to strengthen its customer base and promote financial literacy, aligning with its mission to empower Filipinos through responsible lending and accessible financial education.

“Responsible lending goes hand in hand with financial education,” said JuanHand CEO and president Francisco 'Coco' Mauricio. “By engaging Filipinos on platforms they trust and use every day, we help them make informed financial decisions and build a more secure future.”

The recognition from Agile Data Solutions underscores JuanHand’s growing relevance in the digital lending sector as Filipino borrowing habits continue to evolve.
