SM Supermalls is transforming Cebu’s food landscape, rolling out a series of culinary firsts across its major retail hubs — from Michelin-recognized brands to global dining sensations and homegrown favorites with a twist.
SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan said the new offerings across SM Seaside City Cebu, SM City Cebu, and SM JMall reflect the company’s commitment to curating world-class experiences for the Cebuano community.
“We’ve always believed that Cebuanos deserve nothing less than the best — and the first,” said Tan. “Through curated dining experiences and thoughtfully chosen food partners, we’re transforming how people dine, gather, and connect in Cebu.”
At the expansive SM Seaside City Cebu, diners can now enjoy Michelin-starred Hawker Chan and the iconic dim sum of Tim Ho Wan.
Cibo recently opened its first-ever in-line store in Cebu, offering Italian cuisine with Filipino flair. Lugang Café also made its debut, bringing its signature xiao long bao and Taiwanese dishes to the city for the first time.
SM JMall is carving out a space for globally celebrated culinary experiences, starting with Hoshino Coffee—renowned for its hand-drip brews and signature soufflé pancakes. Joining the lineup is Yakiniku Like, a solo-dining yakiniku spot known for fast service and quality meats, perfect for Cebuano diners on the go.
Another standout is Twist & Buckle, a Michelin Guide-recognized churro brand, now raising the bar in Cebu’s gourmet casual scene.
At SM City Cebu, ABACA Baking Company opens as the first café concept inside an SM mall, serving handcrafted pastries and coffee that combine global quality with strong Cebuano roots.
Later this April, Starbucks will unveil its first store in the Philippines featuring a modern native Filipino design concept. Tavolata, a celebrated local Italian restaurant, also makes its SM debut.
By May, SM City Cebu will welcome more firsts: The Moment Group’s Ooma and Manam will bring bold Japanese and reimagined Filipino flavors, respectively. Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, famed for its USDA Prime dry-aged beef, and Nagi Izakaya, a modern take on Japanese pub dining, are also set to open — marking another first for Cebu.
With each addition, SM Supermalls continues to shape Cebu’s dynamic food scene by blending convenience, innovation, and culinary excellence to suit a wide range of tastes and lifestyles.
