
AP Renewables Inc. (APRI), the geothermal subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation, together with the Aboitiz Foundation (AF), was recognized by the National Resilience Council (NRC) as partners in its Adopt-a-Municipality (AAM) project.
APRI operates the Tiwi-Makban geothermal facilities located in the provinces of Albay, Laguna and Batangas.
In collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Office of Civil Defense, the AAM project links the public and private sectors to partner in capacitating the disaster resilience of local government units.
APRI and the AF adopted the local government of Tiwi, Albay in 2019, supporting and funding a multi-year program that saw risk assessments and mapping, capacity-building workshops, and other forms of technical assistance.
