Robert Bolick denied rumors that he and NLEX coach Jong Uichico are not seeing eye to eye.
The Road Warriors scoring machine clarified that there’s no such rift and was even surprised about the reports.
“I’m busy taking care of my baby and I’m shocked about the stories coming out. As a father, I barely use my cellphone. After practice, I go straight back home to take care of my kid,” Bolick told reporters after the Road Warriors suffered an 89-98 loss to San Miguel Beer to open the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup Saturday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Bolick, who had 12 points and eight assists, said that there’s no truth that he’s not a happy camper under Uichico’s watch.
“There’s no truth in that,” he insisted.
“Nothing’s going on. For me, I have no idea about what’s happening because I’m just in my house taking care of our baby, my wife and I.”
Reports circulated before the start of the season-ending conference of a strained relationship between the two.
Uichico replaced Frankie Lim after the close of last season.
“I have no issues, whoever my coach is,” Bolick said.
NLEX is coming off a sorry campaign in the Commissioner’s Cup when it was shown the exit door after losing to Magnolia in a playoff for the last quarterfinals seat.
The Road Warriors reached the quarterfinals of the Governors’ Cup but were booted out by eventual champion TNT.
