Globe Telecom Inc. is positioning its new prepaid 5G WiFi service as a key driver of revenue growth, banking on rising consumer demand for faster, more reliable internet.
As the shift from 4G and LTE networks accelerates, the company expects its expanding 5G infrastructure to capture a larger share of the market.
In an interview with reporters, Globe chief commercial officer Darius Delgado said the increasing affordability of 5G devices is expected to accelerate customer migration from 4G and LTE.
“We are pushing for it to become a major revenue stream,” Delgado said, citing the company’s optimism about 5G adoption.
On Wednesday, Globe formally launched its Globe AT HOME 5G WiFi router at the Museum in Ayala Malls Manila Bay. The routers showcase designs by national artists Vicente Manansala, Toym Imao and Botong Francisco.
Priced at P1,100, the device offers reload options from P299 to P1,299 and provides high-speed wireless connectivity, making it ideal for professionals, streaming users and those needing reliable home internet.
While 5G is not yet available nationwide, Globe said it continues to expand its coverage.
“We continue to build because we see more and more customers predisposed to 4G or LTE going to 5G,” Delgado said.
The company is also working with the government to extend connectivity to geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, further broadening its market reach.
