The Bureau of Customs (BoC) held a two-day awareness seminar on knowledge management (KM) last 2 to 3 April 2025 at the Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros, Manila, the agency announced Thursday.
It aligns with the ASEAN Customs Capacity Building Working Group’s (CCBWG) Strategic Plan of Customs Development 14: Knowledge Management and underscores the Philippines’ role in ASEAN Customs capacity-building efforts.
The seminar featured discussions on how knowledge management can enhance institutional resilience, operational performance, and regulatory compliance. Participants examined key challenges, best practices, and strategies for integrating knowledge management into customs services.
It also laid the groundwork for a future national workshop and the development of a national KM policy aimed at further institutionalizing KM initiatives within the BoC.
A key highlight of the seminar was the announcement of the Philippines’ upcoming appointment, starting next year, as the ASEAN Customs Capacity Building Working Group’s country coordinator for knowledge management.
