FIFA Women’s World Cup veterans Sarina Bolden, Jaclyn Sawicki and Quinley Quezada won’t see action when the Philippines faces the United Arab Emirates for a pair of friendly games on 4 and 8 April in Dubai.
Filipinas head coach Mark Torcaso said the three veterans are injured and they have decided to let them heal for the meantime.
“One suffered a minor injury in the last camp and the other had a reoccurring injury that needed to be monitored over the last few weeks,” Torcaso said.
“We believed it was important for them both to remain at their clubs and continue their rehab in that environment. Unfortunately, Quinley Quezada also was not selected due to injuring her knee in the last camp.”
The Philippines is slated to see action in two tournaments after the Dubai expedition.
First will be the ASEAN MSIG Serenity Cup in Indonesia on a date yet to be determined as they seek back-to-back titles.
Then, the Filipinas will be competing in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers 23 June to 5 July.
