Supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte are organizing a nationwide motorcade and prayer rally on March 28 — his 80th birthday — amid his detention at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.

According to Benito Ranque, co-convenor of the Return Duterte Movement, a "Jericho unity motorcade" will be held simultaneously in Luzon, with convoys expected to come from Cagayan Valley and Southern Luzon toward Quezon City. Participants are encouraged to wear green shirts and bring Philippine flags and banners as a symbol of unity and patriotism.

The initiative, dubbed the “Bring Duterte Home” campaign, aims to express support for Duterte, who is currently detained at the ICC detention facility as he awaits trial on charges of crimes against humanity linked to his administration’s war on drugs.

Ranque described the motorcade as similar to previous gatherings, including the 23 February rally at the People Power Monument and the March 16 unity motorcade in Manila. Organizers said the format follows that of a “Jericho March,” a symbolic prayer walk aimed at seeking divine intervention and protection.

Pro-Duterte groups also plan to mark the day as “Green Hope Day,” with prayer and candlelight events across various regions. Organizers said activities will take place not only in Metro Manila but also in Caraga, including the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, and the cities of Butuan, Surigao, and Tandag.

Ranque added that the organizers hope to set a Guinness World Record for the largest synchronized prayer rally in a single day. According to him, supporters from abroad are also expected to hold their own events in solidarity.

“No amount of indignant rallies and protests can resolve the fate of Tatay Digong, only a divine intervention can change the course of the political landscape in the country.” he said.
