More than 3,000 workers in Camarines Sur received P13.2 million in salaries through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) Program, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported.
Led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the "Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas" event underscored the administration's commitment to addressing pressing challenges of unemployment and health.
Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma emphasized the program's significance in addressing workers' immediate needs and creating pathways to economic improvement.
“TUPAD is not merely financial assistance—it provides opportunities to rise above challenges and move toward a better future,” Laguesma said.
Simultaneously, the "Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas Para sa 4Ps" job fair was also held, offering over 2,000 job vacancies.
Organized by DOLE and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the event led to 26 4Ps beneficiaries being hired on the spot, with 26 near-hires and 74 others qualifying for employment.
The job fair aims to empower beneficiaries by enhancing access to sustainable job opportunities, according to Laguesma.
The Labor chief stressed the importance of collaborative government efforts under the Marcos administration.
“This event reflects our collective action to uplift the lives of 4Ps beneficiaries, turning them into productive members of society,” Laguesma said.
Participating job seekers also benefited from a convenient one-stop-shop, offering a wide range of government services from agencies like the National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Internal Revenue, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, Social Security System, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and Philippine Statistics Authority.
