By the time Kenneth “The Lover Boy” Llover and his team fly to Tokyo this Saturday, the Filipino southpaw believes he would already be on weight as he challenges for the Orient-Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) bantamweight title on Monday.

Llover, who battles defending champion Keita Kutihara of Japan at the Korakuen Hall, was still more than eight pounds over the division limit of 118 pounds last Monday.

But the unbeaten Llover, who packs a 13-0 win-loss card with eight knockouts, feels he is still right on track.

“When we leave for Japan, I will already be on weight so we can just rest,” Llover, 21, said during a press conference at Max’s Restaurant in Quezon City.

Even his training team and handlers are not worried sick that the Cavite-based banger will not make weight.

“He’s done that before,” his trainer said.

Llover himself is not all too concerned about the scales.

“This is something that I have been doing,” said Llover, who just took 59 seconds to win his Japan debut fight last December in Osaka.

Kurihara sports a 19-8 ledger with 16 knockouts and is seen to engage Llover in a brawl as soon as the bell rings on fight night.

That’s what Llover likes and he swears that it will fit his game plan.

Meanwhile, as the press conference guests wolfed down their fried chicken and noodle meal, Llover just sat and watched everyone in silence.

He had barely touched his food.
