As Max Alvero in Incognito, Kaila Estrada can relate with her latest TV character in more ways than one. In a recent online magazine interview, Estrada shared her similarities with her Max Alvero character.

“Max is very independent and seems to not rely on anyone. But just like all of us, she has a heart and needs connection,” she initially said.

“Just like Max, I consider myself to be a very independent person and quite guarded. But I am also a softie,” she added.

With her busy schedule, Estrada takes her free time by catching up on her sleep, spending quality time with her family or staying at home.

Kim Chiu receives series of hate campaigns

There seems to be a barrage of hate campaign going on against It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu.

First, she was bashed for her opening spiel for a segment on It’s Showtime.

An avid fan of former President Rodrigo Duterte thought that the spiel was Chiu’s subtle swipe at his idol.  The fan later apologized and removed his rants against the It’s Showtime host.

Responding to the apology, Chiu said on X (formerly Twitter) : “Mahalaga po mag #FactCheck bago manghusga at akusahan ang isang tao. Let’s all be responsible citizens. Magtulungan tayo wag magsiraan. God bless po ang lahat (It’s important to fact-check  before judging and accusing a person.  Let’s help each other not ruin).”

Then, Chiu’s face in a tarpaulin for a bakeshop she’s endorsing was covered with what looked like pastry products.  This reportedly happened in Indangan, Davao City.

Some Duterte fanatics were also asking netizens to boycott Chiu’s forthcoming movie with Paulo Avelino, My Love Will Make You Disappear.

But Chiu is seemingly unperturbed, more so now that she was awarded Most R0emarkable Filipino Actress and Empowered Brand Ambassador of the Year by the Golden Dragon Awards 2025.

Purveyor who?

Watched Dolly Ann Carvajal’s recent interview with veteran broadcaster Ces Drilon who denied with seeming vehemence what we wrote more than a week back about the reason why she left the Bilyonaryo Channel.

To begin with, how we wrote it was speculative not declarative, thus the title “Is Korina Sanchez the reason Ces Drilon left ‘Bilyonaryo’?

Drilon said: “We’re really good friends, Korina and I.  I really, really value her support kasi noong pandemic ang dami kong pinasok na bago (business) and she was my number one customer, supporter.”

Drilon added that we could have called her to clarify things.

But we’re not Dolly Ann Carvajal whom we saw at one time conveniently asking an actor for his cellphone number.  We don’t work that way.  We’re always detached from our interviewees.

Trying to put us down, Carvajal condescendingly asked Drilon:  “So, ano’ng masasabi mo sa purveyor of fake news (So, what can you say about purveyor of fake news)?”

In the course of their banter, Carvajal  finally asked Drilon who was her lousiest interviewee. She mentioned the I Love You virus creator, a name she had already forgotten.

“I can’t remember his name. Kahit ano’ng gawin hindi ko siya mapiga (No matter what I do, I can’t squeeze it out of me). And I heard, this guy, he’s abroad and is highly paid,” Drilon said.

“Hello Ms. Ces, the one who created the I love you virus is not as successful as you thought. I have seen articles that he is a cellphone repairman somewhere in Manila. If hindi ako nagkakamali,” a certain @beatricedemesa3724 reacted to Carvajal’s YouTube post.

We’ve done some research and found out that an American author, Geoff White, was able to locate the I love you virus creator, Onel de Guzman, who runs a cellphone repair shop in Quiapo.

So, may we ask Carvajal, who’s the purveyor of fake news now?
